| Here is the strange part that gets me...... one of my growers has a really close rotation, too close if you ask me .... but I digress.
Calls me a couple weeks ago ... says " found a dead spot out in the taters, University thinks it is soft rot" I said which field .... tells me the # and I ask if its 50 yards or so south of the post that marks the dogleg in the field boundary....... he says " yeah........ why????" I remind him thet there has been a strike to that area every year it has been in potatos since I started scouting for him... he says " you know... your right"
My question ... maybe NVDave can answer this ...... why does that area, probably all have been within 30 yards of each other, get strikes on a regular basis? It isnt the highest ground around, no irrigation mains run under there, no distinguishing features whatsoever.
Still puzzles me every week when I drive by the dead spot.
