sw corner Ia | different in some ways, yes, but all dirt can mix with water and go down the creek. My wife came from an area in Greene county with the blackest dirt I can imagine. Pretty flat but not completely. The farmers there all say it doesn't wash. Lots of hills are farmed straight over the top and have eroded to the crap subsoil and now will not raise half a normal yeild. They all say they don't want terraces too. So this is the result. I used to fight harvest in a level land combine in these hills till 86 when I finally bit the bullet and got a sidehill machine. Can run the machine full no matter where I go now. Another neccessary evil.
You get out about what you put in. Wish it were different, but it isn't.
Did you get settled up with case over the roll thing? I hope it works out ok. | |
