I double raked yesterday right before a light rain. Didn't plan it that way but thats how it worked out. Lucky that I had it raked too. The top of the windrow is bleached but everything else is green. Will still make export with a slight price adjustment. Neighbor was raking when it rained. His double rows look like mine. The part that was not raked and was laid out wide is all bleached out. The bleached out hay will take a big price discount. I'll try and get some pictures today. It's just like Ben said. Wide is faster when the weather works out but get a rain or heave dew and it bleaches out way faster. I like to lay the first cutting as wide as possible. 7' swath with a 16' header. From second cutting on I narrow it up to about 5'. Everything gets double raked here.
