I've done that all the time, File the proper FSA form before harvest for field direct delivery. Deliver the grain during harvest and collect the LDP for the day of delivery but I don't turn in grain tickets until Jan 2 so that payment is in the new tax year. I don't know the deadline that all has to be done but I think it's when the loans are no longer available.
