I have to disagree with the sunlight interception. Narrow rows capture more total sunlight in a growing season. 10 inch rows close canopy about july 1 ,30 inch about july 20. The sun is hitting black ground and not soybean leaves on 30 inch. The more sunlight interception the more sugars that a plant can produce.
If you theory is correct than why not 40 inch rows or 5o inch rows??
