Callao, Missouri | I walked the field in the picture tonight with a spade, looking to drain some water. I'm not sure if I made my wages, but it made me feel better. The corn only went down where the water channelized, or debris settled on it. I think that I'll wait a few days for the debris mats to dry out, then see if I can burn most of it. We were lucky that we had such a dry spring, as the ground is about 6in of MUSH. The dry spring made the corn "root" pretty well, I think that's why so much of it is still standing.
Don- We have been fairly lucky so far. I hesitate to say anymore for fear of retribution from above. I hope your crop continues to progress well. It seems like the last storm system was very spotty, I get a different rainfall total from every neighbor that I talk to.
I heard that Mexico had a few roads closed, I listened to 95.7 today as I paid bills......drown my sorrows in country...lol. I agree, a small rain to wash the corn off would be nice.
