Subject: I don't know what their situation is but

we drill most of our non-irrigated beans and plant our irr. beans in 30" rows. The reason for drilling the dryland is to get a canopy sooner to help on weed control and to conserve some moisture. If we plant a variety on irrigation that doesn't get very tall or doesn't canopy well then we will drill those beans under a pivot also. I know wider rows allow more air movement and lesson the chance of some disease, more of a problem back east than in our area.
