Arva, Ontario | Darin,
Stripe rust is fairly easy to distinquish from other rust/disease species. It is an orangy-yellow, and the line of pustules will follow a leaf vein for a long time (sometimes the length of the leaf) without 'hopping' to the next vein.
From a text book I found:
-traditionally found at higher elevations in Alberta and BC.
- can cause yield loss of up to 75% in Soft White Spring Wheat
- infection and sporulation requires cool nights
- optimum temperature for development is 9-12C (50-60 degrees F)
Hope this Helps,
Good on Ya for finding it and doing something about it.
