Subject: RE: About Your Hoop building?

Urbandale Ia, (but originally from SE IA)
Its a Winkler and I'm having it put up. Looked at buying a kit from FarmTek, but thought maybe it would be better to have someone who knows what they are doing handle the erection.
They have a cheaper model available with the lighter frame and they are similair in price to the FarmTek "bargain models. More like what the original hog finisher hoops were like. They run about 8K for a 30x60 erected. I opted for the truss style, partly because he had one in stock. 42x70 runs in low to mid teens depending on options.
I plan to fill it 1/2 - 2/3 with round bales and then use the remaining available space for overflow machinery storage (bulldozer, wagons, etc). Then, in spring when the hay is fed down, I'll have space available to use as a calving shed.
