BHTN - 10/29/2026 14:30 I had to use a walker for a while after crushing my knee. Go SLOW is all I have for you. I always assumed the weight of the leg on itself was fine. Just try not to carry any/much of your body weight on it. Had to put most of your body weight on the walker when transitioning the other leg forward. Best of luck to you. NOT a fun time. Mental part is the worst by the way so learn to deal with that part as well. I've been on a walker for four months due to a broken femur. I would think a knee walker would be the best bet if it would work for you. And the mental part can get to you if you let it. I even had a friend, who is paralyzed from below the shoulders down (and has been for almost 40 yrs) texting me encouragement---that will wake you up and realize you don't have it too bad. It would be hard to keep all your weight off with a walker. I'm even getting muscle soreness in my shoulder on the opposite side from trying to support more weight and try to put a fair amount of weight on the broken leg. |
