North East Wimmera district of Victoria. | Our old doorbell ran wirelessly on batteries - two "c" size - but it seemed to flatten batteries in a short time - even if it was not used. [most of our friends just give a holler and walk in!] Figured we could afford a new one. Sales guy said "We're getting no complaints about these! [Digitech model LA5056] Specification sheet states USB DC 5v 0.5 [required, not included] I am unsure as to whether the usb plug has to be 'live' or not - the instructions are very short and basic. Plus I have yet to discover where a battery could be inserted! The instruction sheet tells how to change the ringtones, but little else. So a few questions :- Are you NAT'ers familiar with these doorbells? How on earth do you access the battery compartment? Does the remote control need powering - or does it 'piggyback' electronically from the base unit?
These questions from a bloke in Australia - hoping that they are 'multinational'! The photo shows the longer than wide remote control, alongside the receiver.
