east central WI | I just went through the same thought pattern. Im 62 have a substantial retirement fund. i worked and farmed many years. Tractors starting to get to the point of needing to be replaced. Im debt free now and figured what is the point of putting myself in debt because my son and grandkids have no interest in farming. I treat the farm like a business, it needs to show a profit or at least breakeven. Had a farmer give me a more than fair price to rent land. the passion to farm left my soul this year so its time. | |
