My wife cooks great liver and onions. Very tender.
And I’ve had oyster stew every Christmas Eve since I was a youngster.
Mom used to soak the liver in buttermilk, then roll it in flour and cook it with onions. Sister wouldn't eat it.
Probably more than 20 years ago, Heritage House in Springfield had it on the buffet one day, it was nothing to brag about.
I heard a guy at the next table ask the waitress what it was, she said: "if I told you, you wouldn't eat it."
(There was a sign on the glass, only way I knew what it was.) |
