JD, we do experience significantly higher fines using a pair of double runs vs the augers they replaced. I know, sounds counterintuitive, and opposite results from what we were counting on. But watch the bottom sprocket as it goes around and it just churns the kernels into ground feed. I think the 6” Sukup double run filling the dryer is even worse than the bigger Master Mover filling wet bin. Fines are definitely an issue for us that require extra monitoring we just don’t have at our other binsite that is all augers. Disappointed in that aspect for sure.
I think that is the first time I have seen anyone mention increased grain damage with the double run. Probably not many people running both systems (auger and doublerun) at the same time as many would upgrade out of the auger system. Any possibility of changing/modifying the intake to minimize the damage to grain? No first hand experience or exposure to double runs.
