Took a look today and one of my machines has the fast sprocket (20 teeth i think) while 2 have the slow.(33 i think) for the driven rock trap sprocket.
Found some online posts indicating slow better for feeding and wear and tear on the rocktrap.
I didnt even realize the one machine was different. Looks like (according to info I found) slower speed will reduce backfeeding although potentially less rock protection while faster rocktrap can potentially impede feeding but stop rocks better.
2nd pic is comment from SDman on diff. forum who’s advise has usually been right in my experience.
I found with the slow speed it worked until it got tough in the evening then back feed. This is in heavey straw. You have to wait till next year to try some differnt speeds. |
