West Central Iowa | OK, thanks for the replies! After lots of messing around I got one done for myself and the good news is it also covers another account we have with Treasury Direct using our business TIN as another entity. I was afraid it was going to require another ID.me account for that Treasury Direct account with a lot of different documentation.
It took probably 4 or 5 hours, but most of that time was waiting on approvals or replies on documents I sent and waiting for the video conference that was required because I could not get a picture sent with my table that they liked. I also had some problems coming up with documents that were on the "approved document" list as a lot of my tax forms only showed the last 4 of my SS number. I also tried using my old passport as one of the documents which while it was not technically expired for another month or so, it had already been replaced with a new one that we did not have access to today, as it is at the local bank in our safety deposit box.
I still have to do my wife's account, but hopefully it will go much quicker now that I know what documents they will take, will have access to her current passport and use a newer phone with a better camera.
Thanks for the help! | |
