Sounds like the high pressure standby on PFC pump may be low , when you put auger out it’s commanding the pump to go on high pressure the steering gets better. Not familiar with that newer machine. I would start there, could be a simple turn on a screw. Your local dealer should know how to plumb gauges and adjust compensator on PFC pump.
