On the right hand side of head behind plastic shield, I keep losing or breaking bolt #20. Shield is just wired shut due to corrosion, I never find the remnants of it to help diagnose. The shaft is splined into the coupling, so I think the bolt is just to hold shaft into the coupler, not acting as a shear bolt. So Why? Bearing going out or shaft wore between it and bearing causing some kind of harmonic force pulling with enough force to break a M8 bolt. It had a lock nut on it and no fresh gauges on inside of plastic shield so I think it's coming out in pieces. | |
