Subject: RE: Small wheel loaders with with a skidsteer type hitch

east central ND
I bought a 244j Deere two years ago. 9,000 hours. I love the visibility. I can get in and out easily. Has the rear wheel steer on that model. I have a skid steer adapter for it, makes it very handy for attachments. It is no where as agile as a skid steer. But I don’t need that level of maneuvering. Coming from a farmall super M as a loader tractor, the little wheel loader has really been an improvement at my place. It has the bigger tire option, but the tread is not the best for mud or ice. I don’t know about the new Deere ones, but the J model is a Leiberr with a Deere engine, so it has DIN hose fittings. About 12,000# machine. Goes 18 to 20 mph on road.

Edit: one thing I like is when pushing trees/branches/brush, there its 6 feet in front of cab. It’s not right in front of the glass. Bad thing is it could lift a bit higher. I think it lifts just the same hight as a big skid steer.
