Nebraska | Many years ago(probably 15 yrs ago) i overhauled this engine, its got about 2000hrs on it since, but now have it out to replace the clutch. Watched a few videos on YT and kind of stumbled across something I didn't even know.... Two of the four engine mounting bolts were supposed to be a special kind of dowel bolt. I just had it mounted with 4 1/2" bolts. Oops.
I kinda sorta remember when I took it out back then that the bolts might have looked weird, It never even occurred to me to keep them.
Is there somewhere that still makes these? Or am I going to have to find a salvage yard?
I mean.... it did kinda work fine for all these years, I am having to replace my chain coupler and sprockets though too since I got it all apart. Probably get more life out of them if it was a perfect fit, but another 2000 hours and it'll be ready for another engine overhaul.... so I probably don't need to go to the ends of the earth to get it done perfect. Its just a filthy feed wagon tractor, I'll run it until something major happens and then its probably scrap iron or a project for my retirement days to keep me out of my wife's hair.
