Subject: Trailed Implement Hub Engineering and Placement

Hi all,

I am re-engineering a bale stacker that will hitch to a truck receiver or tractor drawbar, with the load being transfered to a set of rear, trailed tires. I have seen a number of axle and hub orientations on trailed implements and am trying to determine how to best attached the rear wheels.

I have rarely seen a trailed implement wheels, have square angles.... what is the engineering advantage to that?

Here are a few pictures for you to ponder on.

Thanks in advance.
