Subject: RE: Fighting fuel on my Ford 3000

All SIMMs and MINIMEC inline injection pumps, injection lines straight inline on the top of the pump, used on Ford tractors use engine oil to lubricate the injection pump. They have a separate cavity in the pump that oil needs to be installed. The exceptions are the later six cylinder engines that have lines from the engine to the injection pump which supply engine oil for the pump.

Most 3 cylinder use a CAV rotary injection pump, but around 1969 Ford did use an inline pump for around a year before going back to the rotary pump.

You did loosen the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing? The engine needs to be at a spot that the lever of the hand pump is not against the high spot of the injection pump cam. The shut off valve at the tank has a screen on top as mentioned previously. These screens fall off letting debris plug the valve opening. Remove the fuel cap and blow air back through the line to remove the plug. At some point you will need to remove the valve and install a screen or the complete valve.
