Some have too much land expense, others too much equipment expense, family living, etc. Some of it is luck, like pricing fertilizer needs at the right time. Getting bids from multiple sources on inputs. Every farm is going to be different though of where they need to make cuts. All I'm saying is going over everything with a fine tooth comb, and being honest with needs vs. wants is always a good idea.


Guess I didn't realize all that was new.   Maybe my comment was directed more towards things like repair parts, tires, insurance, utility bills, etc.   Stuff that can't be avoided to simply operate daily.   A truckload of $4 corn doesn't have nearly the buying power in 2026 as it did in 2016.
