I can difinitively say the fact that they asked for your full legal name to withdraw $5k has absolutely nothing to do with regualtors, that is a bank level policy.
I was told by a somewhat lower level bank employee that $10,000 is a mandatory report, but banks can voluntarily report any amount.
So some banks just report every cash withdrawal.
