n. Illinois | NW Illinios and the forecast is next 8 days all in the 90's with no chance of rain. However we had 7" in June and 1.7 " over the fourth weekend. The heavy black soils can take this and never falter. The sandy soils here have irrigators on them and will be okay as well. had only .7" in May after getting planted and the rain in June didn't arrive until around like the 10th so the roots are nice and deep. Tasseling everywhere now so pollination will be in the 90 Degree heat with lots of sun and humidity. Not a plant person at all so have no idea how that will effect pollination. At what temp does high heat effect pollination? | |
