A lot of cosmetic dents will go away on their own with time + heating/cooling.
I got paid cosmetic damage from hail on every roof on my place ~15 years ago. I don’t think you could find a dent after 2 years had passed. Ins Co has long ago quit paying out cosmetic damage.
Anyway, I’d never put shingles on anything ever again because the wind always blows them off “here”. Got sick of fixing shingle roofs 20+ years ago.
