| The elementary school i went to K-6 grades in closed after the 24-25 school year. They were looking at less than 10 total kids with only one being a Kindergartener. When i was in grade school there was about 30 of us plus or minus a couple. There's been several new families that moved into our town, but they either homeschool or bring the kids with them to work in the large towns close by. The two school districts are set to vote in two weeks to approve a merger between the school district i live and the school district they have partnered with to handle the 8-12 grade education. Under the plan to be voted on, the larger school district will absorb all of the smaller schools area, busses, property, etc. I don't think it's any surprise this is happening as there's few of the original families left and few kids left in the area from even when i was in grade school. Myself and one other actively farming, and the 3rd is an agronomist at a local co-op. | |
