Here's a follow up to the linked thread.

I ordered new plungers for 4 tubes along with the retaining clips.  I proceeded to loose the clips so I delayed the project until yesterday.  After replacing 3 plungers and using E clips from my assortment kit I came I realized I maybe didn't need new plungers.  On the rod that the plunger is attached to there are two little tabs that are used to keep the metal disk that pushes against the plunger in a assembly position.  I found that at least one of my tubes the metal disk had became positioned so it was always in the assembly position and the plunger had about 1.5" of movement on it so there was never any direct pressure on it.  It caused the plunger to run crooked in the tube and allowed grease to easily get behind it.  I repositioned it correctly on my last tube and ran 2 tubes through it with out issue.
