| My wife has horses, and a few years ago we went to buy some small square bales from a seller she had found online. Got to the place and there were Deere signs, equipment, and paraphernalia everywhere. Turns out the owner was a salesman for the local Deere dealership. The small squares were incredibly square, tight, and consistent. I commented on the quality of the bales to the salesman's son, who was handling the sale, and he told me that a couple of years prior his dad had given up on Deere balers and had purchased a Hesston/MF inline baler. They loved it, but kept it out of sight. That being said, I've seen a good operator make nice bales with a crummy baler and conditions, and a poor operator make crummy bales with a nice baler and conditions. I fall into the second category. | |
