Subject: Depends on the rock

Pittsburg, Kansas
Depends on the rock and where you are at.

A sandstone can usually be broken up with a hammer out of the tractor tool box. A harder rock, good luck with that and wear eye protection.

My preferred tool was a big heavy pry bar. Like 7 feet long and inch and a quarter in diameter. Raise the basket, let the weight of it roll to the bottom, and with the weight of the big bar hammer it out between the bars. That was if we were around the shop or service truck.

The guy on the planter would always let be known when the planter tractor or planting units started bouncing. "Get that rock out of the rolling harrow!" If the tillage guy hadn't noticed it.
