Mid-Michigan | I have a two story brick house. 3300 sq. Ft. My kids are gone and nobody ever goes upstairs unless somebody comes home (rarely). I have two ar conditioning units. I have only been using one (the bigger of the two and obviously the lower level). Temp is set at 71 and house is comfortable. Upstairs is around 80. Since cool air settles, am I causing the lower unit to work harder by not cooling the upstairs? Obviously the cool air and the warm air are meeting at some level. What's the correct way to do this? Both on or the way im doing it? Or a toss up in terms of energy use. | |
