It makes a mess of the top of the dryer but....it's a much bigger screen than the one in the door. It also keeps the lint away from the clothes so you don't get lint on pulling clothes past it.

+1, have had one for 15-20 years with the top pull out screen. Blue jeans fill the whole screen the fastest IMHO.
Does it cause drying problems or dryer duct problems?
