nw NC | I see posts with photos of corn severely damaged by hail. Most who reply say that it will have little effect on yield. I've never had any corn hit by hail. But there is plenty of damage by deer here. Why is it that corn grazed on by deer at 8 inches ends up stunted so much that it produces little. And knee high corn that deer bite the leaves off( do not eat them just drop them) makes nothing. How can hailed corn recover and produce while deer damaged does not?
