China's ownership doesn't represent a large % of land, but if it all was forced to the market it would represent a sizable increase in the amount of land on the market.
In a thinly traded market (farmland is very very thinly traded, ~1% is bought/sold to non close relatives each year) it doesn't take a lot to put too much on the market at any given time for the market to absorb without any hiccups.
