 Pittsburg, Kansas | That is interesting. On my bigger one I now use it mostly with either a chain saw tooth blade or a tri tip steel blade for clearing small saplings or real heavy weeds and vines. The chain saw blade works best on saplings over half inch but the tri tip steel blade works best on heavy weeds, vines and briars along with small saplings.
The reason I mention it is that gear reduction head might be good with those attachments. That thing is pretty scary when wound up. A person could lose a leg pretty easily. But it sure makes work of a brushy mess. Way better than a chain saw. Just got to pay attention to what I'm doing.
