Since 1980, the first Heritage Foundation Presidency. 

All govt spending isn’t inflationary, but deficit spending tends to be. Before 1980 we largely taxed the very wealthy and corporations to operate. They didn’t like that. So they got people elected who would deficit spend and cut their taxes. So you got the double whammy of hoarding and taxes. And I think 401k’s actually make the problem worse.
