The church has already started putting themselves in that lose/lose situation, IMO, by digging up an obsolete ordinance and seriously expecting it to be enforced.

I’m curious what makes a zoning ordinance “obsolete”?

Is it obsolete just because the new owner didn’t know about it? Is it obsolete just because he (and others) don’t like it?
Or is it obsolete because it’s old? Lots of laws are old, are they all obsolete?

IMO, calling it obsolete isn’t going to be a very good strategy for getting it changed.

It’s obsolete because it’s old, obscure, a majority think it’s a stupid ordinance, governing authorities aren’t interested in enforcing it, and now it’s only purpose is for some ninny to dig up to use as a weapon to interfere into someone else’s business.
