SW OH | Similar thing happened here a few years ago. A group bought the old firehouse in town and turned it into a micro brewery. About the permits were requested a Baptist church in the next block, 360 feet away objected. It resulted in a court battle. Ultimately the micro brewery had more money for lawyers than the church.
There is a bar 375 feet from the church in another direction that's been there for as long as I can remember. It was a hangout of mine at 1 time. It used to be a rough place back in the day. Stabbings, a couple of shootings, bikers, drugs, rednecks. It has probably been there longer than the 1,000 foot ordinance. It may even be the reason for the ordinance.
