What is the history of this law or ordinance? If they allow a petition to not follow it then they have just opened Pandoras box. The 1000' might be to much but 70' is to low. They need to follow the ordinance or get the ordinance changed. Doesn't it say in the Bible somewhere that foreigners are supposed to follow the laws of the land they reside in?
