I fund it with moolah, and once we get to our hotel, I usually covert to the local currency. I then carry two wallets. My normal one i usually leave in the room safe, plus a new one with the local cash, and the debit card for travel. I've never been held up, or pickpocketed, but if I was, I would rather lose that one.
