The thing that we have now is communication. The word can get out immediately now. Myths and truths can can be debated where everyone can see.

I think the 80s would be totally different if we had NAT much less all the other websites (good and bad) that we have now.

Every once in a while I wonder if we had the internet when I was growing up in the 1960s. It would have been a totally different world.

I mean no card catalog, etc. I was in a debate during sophomore English class. The two of us were debating two other people about something sports. The other team said something about a college stadium in Michigan that held 148,000 people. We thought we had them. We said that could not be true. In the rebuttal the other team held up a 3x5 card stating it was true. We did not debate back. We believed the person. Now people would be on their cell phones checking the fact. Different world.
