West Central Illinois | Well as you likely already know, the underlying fund has gone up 72% in the last two years.
As someone else posted, you need to look at what this ETF did in less giddy times.
But as another person posted, it comes down to what you plan to do with the initial capital. If it’s just going to your kids as many of us plan I would invest in funds or equities.
Anything you hold for over a year could be partially sold at capital gains rates.
If you are looking at diversification I would go another route - look into asset based or steady income stocks. I know - hard to give up those big gains. I just bought more NVIDIA stock last year.
Examine what you already plan to pass on to future generations. I’m guessing they will be treated quite well. Why not splurge and take your wife (or whole family) on a great trip to who-knows-where. We have traveled quite a bit and I can tell you it lends a new perceptive on your place on this earth. | |
