Medicine Mound,TX | You sacrifice the upside for income. If you are at the stage of life you need income it can be a good deal. If not you are better off owning the underlying assets. You can sell covered calls yourself and skip the fees of these funds, but it takes work. If you are going to reinvest the "dividends" of these funds, it is not a good investment. You will be better off again buying the underlying asset. It would be for someone who is going to live off the income and doesn't want to sell off assets.
