So you don't use P and K? Ag Chemicals? There's no places where erosion is a concern? Water tables dropping? Etc, Etc? A lot of the arid west is exporting their aquifer via crops. And Ethanol is energy positive, but barely. You're essentially converting oil into corn and then into Ethanol.
You need to step back further in scope.. most energy comes from the sun (nuclear is one noted exception) fossil fuels are the bank account from millenia of fauna and flora.. buried.. compressed with heat.. etc.. that ORIGINALLY captured Solar energy.
So petro.. is banked solar
Solar and crops are current Solar.. the income stream.
I live off income.. but occasionally dip into savings.. but INCOME is what matters..
Petroleum STARTS with the assumption that we can live off Savings vs Income.
I got to go.. but if applying Phos and K weren't profitable.. we wouldn't do it.. so there's a place in the returns to cover that.. digging it up from one part of Earth to apply to another.. especially if it has to pass through the straits of Hormuz.. can get tricky.. see Petroleum.. et all..
... see initial post in this thread. But the Middle East is not the only place such items are located..
