Since I’ve gone this far.. it’s a key to point out that while US Crude Oil Fields decline.. (at variable rates..). US corn yields as well as US Corn production increases.. at.. so far.. increasing rates..
Because.. as we grow crops.. sequestering carbon.. we increase Organic material.. which thus increases NATURAL fertility.
a 5% Organic matter soil.. common in the Cornbelt.. naturally gives up about 100 units of nitrogen from now till infinity.. which can be harvested by growing.. solar panels.. (whoops) er Crops like Corn.. (Natures Solar panels.. only don’t leave a toxic cleanup zone after a hail storm.. still not pretty but start over next year) which can be harvested.. stored.. transported in EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE.. then fermented to add OCTANE to gasoline for high compression or turbo charged Internal Combustion Engines (ICE)..
Or even higher blends you can power a John Deere Tractor.

Increasing Carbon in our soils is Literally “money in the bank” for future generations.. vs a “hole in the ground” to clean up in the Williston basin.
just sayin..
Would you rather leave your grandkids..
an acre of Iowa farm ground? an acre of Solar panels.. which will be junk in 5 to 10 years.. not to mention a toxic cleanup mess. Or an acre of West Texas Permian?
Actually an acre of Permian invested in Iowa farm land is probably the winner.. but.. that’s a two step process. 8-)
