Holland, Indiana (SW IN) | Some solar going in around our area ---amount of energy produced per acre I've been curious about
35-40% of US corn production goes to ethanol ---end up with cattle protein food source
Looks very expensive to set up the solar --not cheap to grow corn
So I asked AI ---was a large range BUT solar wins for energy produced by a huge amount
"Solar panels produce far more energy per acre than alcohol (ethanol) from corn. Studies indicate that solar energy is vastly superior in efficiency, generating roughly 30 to 100+ times more energy per acre than corn-ethanol. An acre of solar can power 70 times more miles in an electric vehicle (EV) than an acre of corn can provide in ethanol for a gas car"
I can remember 60+ years back being told
"if we don't do something soon to protect our farm land from development and highways we'll starve"
haven't ran out of food yet
I have no dog in this hunt, I was surprised
Don't shoot the messenger --
I like to drive past solar panels being installed LOTS going on
