Basically the oil industry is saying “sure you can sell all the E-15 you want but since we control basically the whole retail chain it won’t matter. But thank you for easing the actual requirements of using renewable fuels.”
This is the part that really sucks. We have very few stations that sell higher blends of ethanol locally, and the ones that do are not passing on the savings to the consumer. 10 cents less for unleaded 88 (e-15) are not enough to overcome the years of BS from the anti-ethanol crowd that have told people that they will get lower fuel milage and it will destroy your engine. I have run unleaded 88 in all of my vehicles with no change to slightly better fuel mileage. |
