Bismarck, ND | It's our first season with an ExactEmerge planter. Currently trying to plant corn in western SD at 20,000 plants per acre. Having a heck of a time getting the singulation in check. It seems to be hanging in the 96%-98% range. It's throwing exclusively multiples. I'm grasping at straws now, I've switched the seed bowls to the 16 hole ones for sunflowers (3.5mm hole I believe), checked the double eliminators, put them in their most aggressive setting, adjusted vacuum all over the place (seems to do best around 20 in.), threw a boatload of 80/20 talc in, and of course set the hub height when changing the bowls. What's odd is it will sometimes run at 99%+ singulation then some rows will decide to go crazy throwing multiples? Will dusty conditions cause it to erroneously read multiples? Any thoughts? Seeds look like a medium round. Coming from eSets I'm accustomed to 99%+ singulation. | |
