I don't think there are any conditions where we could run that disk and our ground work up as nicely as it is in your picture. With soils like that, you can get away with a lot more than you can on our heavy clay soils. We run a 2660vt (only run it deep enough to smooth out the surface, less than 3 inches), but even with it being less aggressive than a regular disk, spring rains can really cause some problems with crusting and compaction that I feel we probably wouldn't have with a field cultivator.
