Grab a handful of soil from as deep as you’re going to til or 2 inches deep if you’re talking planting. Make a ball in your hand, push the soil out between your thumb and your index finger. If you can make a ribbon over an inch long it’s too wet. If you can’t make a ribbon at all it’s quite dry. Your soil may be different, but that’ll give you an idea… Dennis

My method is the same as above. I farm some bottoms that you pretty much have to cut them open and then a day or so later it will work pretty and be nice and dry. |
